Either green, red, or brown algae, any kind of algae does not look good for Aquarium water and plants. In some cases, you can’t barely see your fish, and in some cases, your plants start to die.
There are some ways you can prevent this from happening, but unfortunately, you only recognize the issue when it’s already there.
So the question is how to combat this algae issue.
+ Water change of 10-15% every day or two days! Yes, this simple step will reduce the amount of nutrients that exist in the water and prevent the algae from growing more.
+ Use a filter with UV light, it does not treat all kinds of algae, but at least the green one would be reduced a lot.
+ Provide a higher water flow like 10x the volume of water in the Aquarium, this will help
+ Reduce the amount of fish food feeding to your fish
+ Clean the glass by using a scraper
+ Reduce the light, like only having the light on for 6 hours or less daily.
