Can I grow Guppies fish without a heater?

The guppy (Poecilia reticulata), also known as millionfish or the rainbow fish is one of the world’s most widely distributed tropical fish and one of the most popular freshwater aquarium fish species. And it is easy to keep for simple reasons. They are very hardy fish!

Although guppies prefer water temperatures around 22.2–26.1 °C (72–79 °F), they can be kept with the temperature from 20-30 without problem. This fish in nature doesn’t always live at a temperature of 22 °C! So if you heat your home during the winter and keep it warm in the summer, you don’t need to buy a dedicated heater for your guppies to grow and thrive.

But if you keep your aquarium down in the basement or your garden shed, well, a heater or even further insulation methods are needed to protect it from freezing.
